The Milford Lake Extreme and Discovery 2009 were "EPIC" Adventure Races in the future will be similar--optional checkpoints to allow for teams of all levels to be thoroughly challenged--along with great terrain and hard earned miles throughout the course. However, you're not going to see the same course again in any race. There may be a few checkpoints that you saw in a previous race, but Milford Lake covers a huge area-- and borders a wide range of endless opportunities. Also, the "order" of the course will always be a surprise. The next adventure race will be in March, and there will be 2 races to choose from. The Thumper Classic is a new addition to the race series, offering a good jumpstart into Spring and a little "tamer" course great for beginners of all ages and/or families with children ages 8-17. Although I considered offering a long course for March, I decided instead just to make the Spring Sprint (now the Break Up) incredibly tough-- but remember you'll have some options if you're not quite hard core just yet.
and participation in the last 3 races, that and most teams are already anticipating March's race, it seems that Kansas is definitely on the map in Adventure Racing. |

Brand new for 2010, time to get wild
AND a little green. This race brings
some new twists in a 12 hr course that
will be a National Qualifier for the
USARA. Beginners and experienced
teams will test their true grit, Kansas
Wild West style. But, hold your hats--
teams will also have to prepare true
"Eco-Style" if they want to participate.
That means all racers will prove they've
been up to some good before they can
try to be their best.

- Liminal Trail is growing--hopefully by another 3 miles this year. So if you
know of anyone interested in contributing some volunteer time, gaining
community service hours, getting race registration discounts and/or
needs an "ECO" project, email Charmion and sign up for one of the
upcoming trail work days (times 1-5pm): Feb 7th, Mar 21st, Apr 3rd or Apr
11th. Just come ready to enjoy some fresh air, time in the woods and
some gorgeous views--and be ready to use a hand saw or move limbs.
