THE RACE--9/18/11
Racers can make a positive difference in the local community by registering,
getting pledges & running or walking either the 5, 10, 15 or 20K trail at Acorns
Resort. Join us for the 3rd annual United Way Back It Up Trail Race!
Registration fees ($20 paid by racer) & donations will be donated to
organizations funded by the United Way of Junction City—Geary County. In
addition, Lake Adventures will donate $50 to the United Way for every course
record that is broken (automatic for the 20k)--if a racer breaks a course record
for overall male and female in the 5, 10 or 15k, that could potentially be worth
$400 donated to the local United Way, in addition to normal racer registrations.
Last years overall donation was $1000, our goal this year is of course higher.
RACE DETAILS
Registration $20, all races start at noon, unless we have more than 25 racers
in each course--then distances will be staggered start by 10 minutes. The 1st
50 racers registered will get a free event tshirt.
You can preregister @ www.adventureracekansas.com by 9/17 to speed up
race day wait. All racers must register/check in 10-11:30am. Raffle will be at
11:30am.
Location: Exit 295 N from I70, go about 12 miles, turn left at sign for "Farnum
Creek". Take 1st right at Acorns Resort, follow road to Office.
THE COURSE
The "Liminal Trail" is a perfect 5k distance, so some racers will get to see all
the rugged Kansas beauty twice & three times in one day. If water levels
remain high, the course will be altered to avoid swimming but will remain 90%
trails running/walking.
