Orienteering, compass and map reading, terrain assoc, UTM plotting, etc—classroom and field practice, 1-5pm. Free if
registered for the Thumper, Break Up or Psycho.
Mar 20th, 2011 Thumper Classic Adventure Race (12 miles) —Acorns Resort, Milford
2 or 3 person teams will cover 3 mi on foot, 8 mi on bike & 1 mi on canoe or kayak. Perfect for beginners &/or families with
children.
Apr 2nd, 2011 Extreme Break Up Adventure Race (25 or 50 miles)—Manhattan
Teams of 2 or 3 are heading into Wildcat country on a mixed urban/woods course. All male/female teams can race & receive
official rankings, but 3 person coed is official division. Plenty of mountain biking, running/trekking, navigating, canoeing and
possible ropes/surprise challenges. The 25 or 50 miles of town/terrain/water is a great way to celebrate the end of winter!
May 7th, 2011 Twister Mountain Bike Race—Milford, Junction City & Fort Riley
Starts at Liminal, runs through Milford State Park, over the Dam & through the Riverwalk—then winds back through for a total
of 35 mi.
May 21st, 2011 Milford Off Road Triathalon—Acorns Resort, Milford
Challenge yourself to the extremes of the Flint Hills! A swim in Farnum Creek, 12 mi bike on road/single track, then 5k run on
Liminal.
Jun 9th – 12th, 2011 Wild Outdoor Women’s Retreat—Acorns Resort, Milford
Led by women, for women. Ropes, navigation, kayaking, hiking, yoga, etc. No previous experience necessary, all ability levels
welcome.
Sep 18th, 2011 Back It Up Trail Races (5K, 10K or 15K)—Acorns Resort, Milford
Trail racing at the lake on the most challenging trail in Geary County (hills, creeks, ravines, forests, rocks & switchbacks).
Oct 15th, 2011 Psycho 43 Adventure Race (choose 25 or 50 miles)—Manhattan/Fort Riley
It's back! Teams of 2 or 3 will face a totally new course. All male/female teams can race & receive official rankings, but 3
person coed is official division. Plenty of mountain biking, running/trekking, navigating, canoeing and possible ropes/surprise
challenges. The 25 or 50 miles of terrain/water will redefine your limits. Also the Midwest series Adventure Race Championship
