Extreme Break Up--March 28th, 2010 (Sunday), approx start time 9am
(The race name is stolen from Alaska, where "break up" refers to Spring, a season of melting snow and ice--it's not really suggesting
that teams will break up, though that could happen).
3 or 4 person Co-Ed teams are the official divisions for prizes.
All male or female teams can register/race and receive official rankings, but not official prizes.
2 person teams (limited to 15 2-person teams total) can also register and receive ranking, but not prizes.
Total race registration for the Break Up is limited to the 1st 120 racers registered.

Registration includes free orienteering class (approx 1 month before race--date TBD), ropes practice (day before the race at Acorns Resort),  race,
watercraft and climbing gear rental, topo maps, awards supper and free tent camping at Acorns Resort on Fri/Sat night.
Tshirts will be available for additional cost.

Registration is $55 per racer for 4 person team ($220 total), $60 per racer for 3 person team ($180 total) or
$70 per racer for 2 person team ($140 total).  Prices went up $10/person from last year due to increased gear/equipment/course costs.
Full refund available by check (active.com does not refund your credit card) if cancellation is made at least 30 days prior to race.  No refunds given
for cancellation of registration within 29 days before the race. If there is a last minute family emergency, you can receive a 50% credit of your
registration toward the next race registration.   Race will not be cancelled due to weather unless severe storms are forecasted ALL day in which case,
the alternate race day will be 4/11/2010.

    See Gear List below.

Teams will navigate approximately 25 miles in the beautiful and rugged Flint Hills and around the largest lake in Kansas. Good choice for beginner
and experienced teams alike--as long as you can find your way on a map!  Top teams will finish around 6 hrs and most will be out there 8 hrs. This
race will be about 15 miles mountain biking (varied terrain), 3 miles paddling (canoe or kayak provided), 7 mi hike/run and rappelling or ascending
ropes.  There's always a possibility for other team challenges.
It will be tougher than last year's Spring Sprint, more like the Discovery--read more . . .

    Thumper Classic--March 28th, 2010 (Sunday), approx start time 2pm
