  • Each team will be allowed to place
    one bag or rubbermaid container at
    the 1/2 way point--for additional
    clothing, food, water, drinks,
    medical, etc.  The container can be
    big or small, but everything must fit
    in the container.  Bring your
    container to the race start.

Canoes and Kayaks (solo racers), Paddles, PFDs and rappelling/climbing
gear are provided for all distances.

  • If you want to bring your own kayak (solo only), paddles, PFD or ropes gear, you can use
    it/them--under these conditions:

  • Soloists bringing their own kayaks are responsible for staging and pick up (location will
    be given at race check in).

  • If you bring your own paddles/PFDs for the canoe, only 2 one sided paddles are allowed
    per boat (2-3 persons per boat).

  • If you bring your own paddles/PFDs for the canoe for the Sprint or Adventure Course, you
    will carry them most of the race.

  • If you bring your own paddles/PFDs for the canoe for the Expedition course, you can leave
    them at the bike drop and may have to carry them for a portion of the race.

  • If you bring your own ropes gear, no matter which course, you will carry it the whole race.
ALL COURSES
  • Cell phones, watches or other devices with GPS capabilities are not permitted to be used on the course.  Use of these devices
    will result in DQ.  If you have a phone, or tracking device you want to capture your mileage on for later training, your team must  
    "declare" these prior to race start.  They will be secured in a plastic bag and special tape will be used to seal them (provided).  
    Display screens will be covered prior to securing.  Don't try it if you're unsure, it never fails that another team will report you for
    use of unauthorized GPS, even if you thought no one saw it.  Bags will be verified at race finish for seal.
