Psycho 43 Adventure Race--Capitol City Nissan
Heartland AR Series Championship, November 5th, 2011
DIVISIONS  (3 person Co-Ed teams are the official divisions for prizes)
solo, 2 or 3 person teams (Co-Ed, all male or female teams).  Three distances to choose from:
5-8hrs; 8-12 hrs; and the big one--16-20 hrs.

    THE COURSE DETAILS
Obviously, it's an Adventure--too many details would spoil that.  But in general, there will be
navigation, canoing, trekking (running or hiking), mountain biking, ropes and other challenges.
The team that completes all the checkpoints (or more than other teams) with the fastest time will
win the race. There will be several checkpoints that are mandatory (transition areas), but most
are not--meaning a team could choose to skip checkpoints and shorten the course for
themselves and still have an official finish--though probably not place in the top 10.

The navigation will require plotting of UTMs on a 1:24000 Topo map, basic understanding of
terrain features and distance measure.  There will be very few rules of travel, teams will choose
their own route/strategy (with mode of travel specified for checkpoints).

Their will be ropes challenges on the course (weather dependent), including rappelling and
climbing.  No prior experience is required.  Other challenges are also likely--this is a Capital City
Nissan title race and it is going through the town of Milford . . . enough said.

GEAR LIST
Cell phones, watches or other devices with GPS capabilities are not permitted to be used
on the course.  Use of these devices will result in DQ.  If you have a phone, or tracking
device you want to capture your mileage on for later training, your team must  "declare"
these prior to race start.  They will be secured in a plastic bag and special tape will be
used to seal them (provided).  Display screens will be covered prior to securing.  Don't try it
if you're unsure, it never fails that another team will report you for use of unauthorized
GPS, even if you thought no one saw it.  Bags will be verified at race finish for seal.
