DIVISIONS (3 person Co-Ed teams are the official divisions for prizes) solo, 2 or 3 person teams (Co-Ed, all male or female teams). Two distances to choose from: 8- 10 hr or 16-20 hrs. THE COURSE DETAILS Obviously, it's an Adventure--too many details would spoil that. But in general, there will be navigation, canoing, trekking (running or hiking), mountain biking, ropes and other challenges. The team that completes all the checkpoints (or more than other teams) with the fastest time will win the race. There will be several checkpoints that are mandatory (transition areas), but most are not--meaning a team could choose to skip checkpoints and shorten the course for themselves and still have an official finish--though probably not place in the top 10. The navigation will require plotting of UTMs on a 1:24000 Topo map, basic understanding of terrain features and distance measure. There will be very few rules of travel, teams will choose their own route/strategy (with mode of travel specified for checkpoints). Their will be ropes challenges on the course (weather dependent), including rappelling and climbing. No prior experience is required. Other challenges are also likely. 8-10 Hr Extreme Course Registration--Closes 9/26/12 Solo race Resume REQUIRED prior to registration Solo : Early $70 until 7/27; Normal $80 until 8/27; and Late $90 until 9/26. 2-3 Person Teams:: Early $60/person until 7/27; Normal $75 until 8/27; and Late $90 until 9/26. 16-20 Hr Hero Course Registration--Closes 9/26/12 Solo race Resume REQUIRED prior to registration Solo: Early $105/person until 7/27; Normal $120 until 8/27; Late $130/person until 9/26. 2-3 Person Teams: Early $95/person until 7/27; Normal $105 until 8/27; Late $120 until 9/26.
