The Psycho 43 . . . 28.5 miles--17.5 mi on mountain bike, 7.5 mi on foot and 3.5 mi of canoe. A crazy bunch of athletes came out to Junction City and Fort Riley and toughed it through another 43 degrees North UTM course. This race has typically been the "Milford Lake Extreme" in past years, and even though the race will usually border some area of the lake . . . I've been discovering many new places in the area that have endless possibilities for an Adventure Races. The UTM North for this whole area is at 43 degrees and most of your friends and family think you are psychotic for participating in this endurance level sport (one of the fastest growing sports in the world). So that explains the new name, Psycho 43. Thanks to all the racers for coming and leaving it all out there. You all had a great race and should feel really proud of your accomplishment. Lake Adventures races are never easy--and when you've completed one, you know it counts. Thanks also to the volunteers--Tammy and Tim, Jani, Tony, Austin, Emily and Brittainy . . . you make it all possible on race day and are so much appreciated!!! |
